KNTY Changes Again

It appears that KNTY has changed it's format again. Now 1019 is known as Jose, but it's not the same as the one before. It seems to be an older skewing Ranchera format and is also on a few AMs around the country.

Gotta love Entravision an their continuous format shuffling around the country.

Now Confirmed

For the second time in six months, a new format has debuted on Entravision’s 101.9 KNTY Shingle Springs/Sacramento CA.

KNTY previously dropped its Country “101.9 The Wolf” identity in July to simulcast rimshot Regional Mexican “La Tricolor” 99.9 KRCX-FM Marysville. On Monday, that simulcast gave way for the launch of Ranchera “Jose 101.9“.

The station is listing Vicente Fernandez, José Alfredo Jimenez, Juan Gabriel, Las Jilguerillas, Antonio Aguilar, Los Tigres del Norte, Joan Sebastian, and Gerardo Reyes as core artists.

I wonder if Entravision made a mistake switching from Country to Regional Mexican to Ranchera music. Since their recent ratings for their Ranchera music format is in the toilet. I think they should go back to do Country music.
