It's the return of the "DFW Radio and TV History," all nice and legal now. www.knus99.com

Updates are few and far between; I could sure use a couple of interns to sort out about 500 emails and scan in a buttload of photos sometime!! ;D

Thanks for your patience, folks!

Yay Mike! :)

I was afraid your new game show host duties would detract you from your outstanding job maintaining the DFW Radio/TV history site. ;D ;D Glad to see that won't be the case! :)

It needs a KEOM tribute section, however. ;)

Great to see it back up. I had gone there to settle a bet with a buddy and it was down. Now if I could just remember what the bet was over. :D

It was over if KLIF stood for Oak Cliff and it was $50.00 with Robert Bass.

KLIF actually WAS for Oak Cliff, as the station originally broadcast FROM Oak Cliff in the Cliff Towers Hotel, which is actually still standing on your right as you go over the Trinity. John Lewis and I went there to tour the building during one of its "down times" and I can assure there is no remnants whatsoever of anything remotely resembling a radio station in the building. The studios, as I understand it, used to be in the basement of the building. I understand there is some sort of renewal project underway with that building right now, but when we went in there it was in serious disrepair. McLendon named the station KLIF because it was originating in Oak Cliff, according to Don Keyes, who told me that little bit of information.

By the way, The History Of KLIF is returning soon to a website near you! There will be a new URL which is www.klifhistory.com The first opening page is up and I just need to do a little work on it to get the rest of the pages loaded. I hope to have that accomplished soon. Why did it go away? Weird deal: The original server apparently went out of business and my URL which I own was linked to them. Without them letting go of it, I could not access it. I finally just decided to get a new URL which I didn't really want to do because the old was linked on so many places...but as soon as I get this straightened out, I will put the word out.

In the meantime, go to my "other" site: www.1650oldiesradio.com and listen to the original sound of Top 40 radio!
Cheers...

Hmmm... when I click on that link, a box ("File Download") pops up asking if I want to save the file or find a program to open it, says "Unknown file type" . It doesn't launch a player.

BTW MUCH THANKS Mike for getting KNUS99 back up and running!
