Thank you dx7, I hope to find out the general feelings from others here in Austin County on this subject. Let me answer your questions as best as I can. There is no local representation in the City of Bellville. The studios and each employee of KNUZ is located at the main studios in Brenham. KNUZ actually simulcasts KULF-FM from Brenham. New Ulm Broadcasting indeed covers local Austin County events, news and sports. While the focus tends to lean more toward Brenham than to Bellville (Brenham, of course, is the larger town) KULF represents itself quite nicely for the residents of the County. As a simulcast partner with KNUZ, these same messages, news updates, etc. also are provided to the City of Bellville on the KNUZ signal. It is no different than any other property in this State that does not focus entirely on its COL. KHPT does not service Conroe, it only uses Conroe as it's COL. KLDE has the same responsiblities in Lake Jackson, KIOL with La Porte, and several others up and down the dial with their respective COL's. I'm not sure why KNUZ would need to man someone inside the city limits of Bellville, to be able to target and service the 3,000 or so of us in the city. I thank you for taking the time to follow this thread and the other thread on this subject. I am interested to see if New Ulm will interject on their behalf at either thread. I'd like to get the first hand information delivered and I know that Roy is a member of this site. My main concern is that if Tom Johnson were to actually succeed with this hostile plan, that it would set a precedent for anybody to say, "I'm not happy with xyz station, let's petition the FCC to turn the broadcaster's license over to me." I would be fearful of what might happen to the radio industry altogether if this were the case.
