KNWS 51 Houston and RTV

I have yet to receive KNWS over the air where I live in Humble. Are they still working on their transmitter issues? Also, are they carrying RTV yet?
RTV's website links to Titan TV that shows "RTN" being carried by KNWS at 51.2. TVguide.com has no listing for 51.2 or RTV. Zap2it lists the RTV programming as KNWS 47.2 (which is the RF frequency).

What is going on with KNWS? The RTV programs sound better than the main programming, I think they should flip flop it between 51.1 and 51.2.

RTV almost certainly won't be showing up on either KNWS or Dallas/Fort Worth sister station KLDT -- instead, it is likely that both stations will be sold in a bankruptcy court auction to a company (Una Vez Mas) that will likely operate them as TV Azteca affiliates.

I can't say that I'm surprised. When the deal to air RTV on these two stations was announced six months ago, I expressed my doubts that it would ever air on either station...

KNWS TV did file chap 11 reorganization and plans on submitting with court stopping sale and is still in the process of full digital 1 megawatt signal that will be completed by mid November 09. RTV or RTN has contracts to air and equipment is forthcoming to place signal on digital 51.2

I'll believe it when I see it.

To DJohnson:

Thanks for the info. Can you come back and keep us updated? And how does this affect KLDT. Will they ever have RTV?

I don't think you all quite understood that article. RTV won't be coming to KNWS or KLDT unless the current owners miraculously finds a way to avoid losing the stations in bankruptcy court.

KNWS 51 is claiming in their website that is realy close to becoming 100% full power, it also mentions that is almost sure that they will complete it before the end of the year. Will this means that they Officialy are not selling both stations to Una Vez Mas Holdings?

I would love to see RTN on 51.2, but I don't really care about 51.1, it is basically an Infomercial channel all the morning and part of their afternoon and my old VCR has better quality than KNWS.

I wouldn't interpret it that way. Johnson Broadcasting, debtor in possession, controls that website -- but the bankruptcy courts will decide whether the sale goes forward.

What I would expect is that the station (and KLDT 54 in DFW) will be sold by the court over the objections of Johnson Broadcasting. And nothing that they put on their station website will change that.
