Knx 1939

Very cool. I didn't realize that KNX was on 1050. When did it change to 1070?

It was one of hundreds of moves when NARBA went into effect. That was March, 1941.

I have my own very small but special version of AmericanRadioHistory.com in form of several banker boxes from 1939-1945. Snapshots of radio in the early 40's. Huge time suck when I get drawn in. Some stuff has not been seen for many years. I maintain 4 50KW sites on Vashon Island which has given me some great stuff to look through. Here's another and this document mentions KMPC.

It's KIRO talking about buying KVI in 1939. It's the notes of the management, along with a support document for cost's involved in a transmitter move. One interesting thing, I found the note covering the cost of the transmitter move 2 years ago at the 1090 transmitter site before I found the management notes at the 710 site (9-19-15). My theory is that Jim Hatfield senior, involved with KIRO back then, built their 50KW site, kept the original cost notes in his file which moved with him when he started to engineer the KEVR 1090 move to Vashon. With the two documents side by side they support each other and make for an interesting read and they mention KMPC so it kinda ties in with LA.
