KNX Los Angeles

Have been listening to KNX on and off this evening in eastern Kansas - an infrequent visitor this far east. Usually hear the oldies from 1 kw KLIO in Wichita on 1070 at night.

After reading your post, I checked 1070 and couldn't hear KNX but then went to 640 and I heard KFI for a few minutes.

Not at all the first time I've heard KFI here in Tampa and I've heard KNX much more.

Neither are frequent visitors here but I'd almost consider KNX a semi regular in winter because if I listen long enough on a given night, it will drift in for a while and often more than once but it never stays too long.

KNX was a regular in Dallas before KRLD started HD hash.

I heard KNX in Overland Park last month. IME, KNX in Eastern Kansas isn't exactly easy, but it's still do-able.

Hi all, when MWDX conditions were good, I received KNX at a pretty good level one morning just after local sunrise on Dec 9th 2009.
Drop me a mail if you want a copy of the .wav

Last year I received a QSL from someone in Sweden who heard KNTH in Houston. He caught it one night when KNX was off the air. Definitely out of the ordinary when you consider KNTH's 11 tower array sends the signal south straight out into the Gulf Of Mexico. He sent me a CD of what he heard. He timed it right before the station ID for about 30 seconds. KNTH is 10KW day and 5KW at night.

By the way, I recently purchased a new TECSUN PL660. I haven't had a chance to really test it. I also have two Radio Shack DX-390 radios. I have been pleased with the DX-390. I bought a second one when I thought I had battery leak damage on the 1st. I was able to clean it up after I bought the 2nd one on line. I also have one of those Grundig radios which you can crank power if you need it. It's okay, but there is no SSB on it.
