KNX onto … 97.1??

Nothing at the FM side that the music on 97.1 is going to completely stop in less than an hour. Nothing like throwing your last batch of loyal listeners under the bus with a total shock to the system.
At least to the few that are even still listening Lol. They will just over to KIIS or Power without a second thought.

I'm surprised it took them this long to find an FM frequency (unless you count KRTH-HD2). Hopefully they will stay true to their AM roots, but if history serves as a guide (hint hint KYW and WSB), the AM frequency will be dropped from the branding, even though it has a better coverage area.
Yes this is like how KFRC-FM but it's labeled as KCBS Radio due to it's all news format origins on 740AM. At this point it's 106.9 FM that's getting the attention first in station ID branding in San Francisco and 740AM as an afterthought. Parts of this is to remain relevant to the current audience

Wow, I take that back, it's not a few. I'm curious how that cume compares to the cume of KIIS and Power.
KIIS 2,040,000.
Power 1.2 million.

Julia, the DJ, just finished her shift without saying farewell to Los Angeles. It's somewhat understandable since she is based in Detroit.

Last 4 songs...

Happier - Marshmellow

Can't Feel My Face - The Weekend

Don't Start Now - Dua Lipa

Stay - Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber

Hmmm... Interesting choices.

Sloppy transition...

When Audacy’s NYC all-newsers migrate to FM, they’re going to do it simultaneously. No way are they going to throw either of the stations not moving to FM under the bus.
I wouldn't be so sure.

At some point in the future all-news will be on analog FM in New York. That seems like a total certainty.

Audacy might not have the luxury of having two underperforming stations they are willing to flip at exactly the same time and there will come a point when being AM-only is going to negatively affect WINS and when that time comes they are not going to hold it back WINS just so they can launch both at the same time.

And it’ll be the death rattle for the AM dial altogether.
Totally agree.
