KNXV's HD goes down, just in time for World Cup

Not happy here. Trying to use my HD for what it does best, sports. And the biggest sporting event of the planet is on today and channel 15 found a way to screw up the HD feed.

I hate to say it, but you are probably one of very few people who'll even notice, let alone care. Most people in Phoenix who are interested in today's Iran-vs-Mexico match will be watching on Channel 33, not 15. World Cup Soccer is even more of a nonentity in American sports than this year's Stanly Cup Finals.

I am a huge soccer fan and love the world cup (even though ABC has the gall to put Brent Musberger on some of the matches). Its a beautiful game, much more exciting than watching steroidial tree stumps standing on first base, or a car going in circles for 2 hours being cheered on by rednecks.

or watching freakish-ly tall guys throwing a ball through a very small hoop :D. (sorry b-ball fans I couldn't resist...)

Guess what?Week 2 and still no signal.Could channel 15 suck any more?I'm guessing....yes.

Oh Yeah! ABC 15 has no limits to their ineptitude -- on all fronts. And now that they've regained the title of the worst TV station in the Valley (3TV's am has recovered) 15 celebrated by naming their assistant ND as their new ND. Let's see... they replaced their GM last year with their station's sales exec, and now their ND with his assistant. Evidently they think they're doing so well they don't want to break the momentum. Stay tuned for more amateurish bufoonery and screw-ups, that is if they're still transmitting a signal. Glad I'm not a Scripps shareholder.

And they said that it may be off for most of the summer. It makes you wonder who they bought their HDTV equipment from. Where was it manufactured - the Czech Republic? If not, they've got to have available spare parts somewhere.

Edit: The DTV signal is on the air. Just no HDTV at this time

They got it to work for the USA Italy match, but not for the Czech Ghana match.

The sound was in and out, but the picture was great.

But, pretty bush league stuff from 15.
