I always enjoyed listening to your dad on KO93. Sorry to hear of your loss, peace to your father, and peace to you!

Everyday we wake and enjoy the sunshine with family and friends is a gift from above, use your's well.

I know this is many years after the last post but I just came across this site as I was "google"-ing my father's name.

My dad was Mike Lewis (Mikelewis911 on this site) he was the oldies dj on Sunday evenings when it was KOSO and KO93. I saw he was active on here and I wanted to let those on here know (and his fans) my father passed away on March 17, 2012 from prostate cancer.

I remember as a little girl going with him to the station when he would prerecord his Christmas shows. I was lucky enough to have inherited his love for music and remember helping him pick his songs for some of the shows (I always got to have 1 song I like played on air before I went to bed). He loved his time on the radio show and missed it when the commute between Concord and Patterson just became too much.

On behalf of his family, I want to thank you all for the fond memories you gave him!
I remember listening to his oldies show on KO93 when it first went on the air in 1979. I was peeved at first because he replaced the syndicated "Dr. Demento Show" but when I called him and expressed my anger at the dropping of Dr Demento, he was very kind and explained the reason why they dropped it and told me that while he was not as wild and zany like the doc, that he would play lots of those novelty tunes that the Doc played and I was hooked. Later, he had competition from Blas Vallejo over at KHOP-104.1 ironically during the same night and time period. But Lewis outlasted Vallejo locally. I think his last show was in 1993? Not sure. I do know that the popularity of Oldies over at KO93 probably was instrumental in getting KWG-1230 to change to All Oldies in 1982.

Mike Lewis show

The name of the business was THE STUFFERY. I didn't know they were a pizza place? ???

Mike was my dad. The Stuffery was a sandwich shop my folks owned. He did the show in trade for advertising.

Loved Mike, but I wished we had a shower at the station so he could freshen up for his shift.[/QUOTE]

HAHAHA... our house smelled like bread, pickles, and bbq beef. I kind of miss it :)
