KOAI morning guy gone?

Yes, afraid the same thing's happened. Rick Vanderslice, who's had multiple tours at The Oasis dating back to 1987 with the original Gannett-owned Oasis at 106.1, was told that his 1-year contract would not be renewed and was being let go. Another casualty at the hands of Charley "I Wanna Be Kurt Johnson When I Grow Up" Connolly. Word is that management is more tight-lipped than ever, and talent is kept in the dark about everything now. When will the Infinity/CBS carnage end????????? Anyone keeping score? Chuck Brinkman, Tempie, Rick, Lynne Haley, Brenda somebody from Jack, Craig Allen...of course, that's just the higher-profile people. And, as usual, talent takes the hit. You don't see Gavin, Kurt, Charley, Peter Z or anyone else suffering any losses over a few bad books or an inflated salary. But the big surprise is that heads haven't rolled at KRLD yet. There's still tomorrow. :p

PUHLEAZZZZE...tell me that you don't seriously place CRAIG ALLEN in the same category with the others you mentioned?!?!? I've always had the greatest of respect for your opinions...but CRAIG ALLEN!

Word on the street is that tomorrow isn't far off for KRLD. Either for management or air-staff or both.

Poor Craig!!! I was just naming names, not making comparisons on talent. I know Craigie's not on par with those folks, but a casualty nonetheless. But thanks for the respect otherwise!! :) Sorry, even a good Cook burns a meal sometimes.Craig's deal was apparently only to do with Jody's show and Jody's desire to have someone else handling sports, so he really didn't belong on such a list anywaze. Personally, I like Craig, but he just didn't mesh in such a high-profile position with Ron and, later, Jody. But he'll always have some great airchecks and stories to share with his grandchildren.

Well while were at it, let's add Larry Dixon to the list. He just put in notice he's leaving radio to take a job in sales at a prestigious magazine.I've had the pleasure to work with Larry these past few months at KLUV and can say he is one "class act". Radio has lost a great talent.I'll miss you my friend!!

The exodus will go on until the new ownership and management has just what it wants--no talent, low maintenance automatons that don't know, don't care, and don't care to know. Talents like Larry Dixon won't lament all the hard work they invested in the business. They'll just be glad they're out and again doing something worthwhile, which radio surely isn't, anymore.

I liked listening to Rick, I liked listen to Larry Dixon as well.

CBS Radio just screwed up a good thing by getting rid of The Oasis.

Time for an FM transmitter for my Ipod.
