KOCE-and-Missed Opportunities

First of all, now 12-days in to KOCE as a primary
PBS--and-still no SAP channel with any discriptions.
And Wednesday evening at 6PM they dropped right in the
middle of President Obama speech, as looks like the
News-Hour was running special coverag of the Memorial
service in Arizona. Looks like either KOCE did not
know this coverage was coming up, or would not clear
the extra time to run it, as KCET did for `quite so
many years. So the service began at 5PM-and-KOCE joined
at 6. You mean KOCE could not have taken it on 50.2?
I had wondered how KOCE would handle special events? I
suppose the next will be State of the Union.
You know, its not like we have an alternative if a
local station ignores Network coverage. Thanks for
listening

Keep in mind that KOCE hasn't just been changing its programming around. They're also in the midst of a move to a brand-new broadcast facility. Having lived through some of those, I'd be inclined to cut them a lot of slack while they're still in the midst of transition. I'm pretty sure the facility move was planned long before they knew they'd also be morphing into "SoCalPBS" right at the same time.
