KOCS, KASK 1510 history

Hey Guys:

Still working on my notes for the Inland Empire AM's and I found a blanks that I have. I have most of 1510 am timeline done but I am missing this:

1. Would anybody know what the format of KOCS 1510 was from 56-59?

2. Would anybody know the format of KASK 1510 from 59 to 63 before it became Top 40?

3. Would anybody know what kind of spanish music was played on KNSE (Radio Quince) from 78 to 98?

Thanks guys for your help.

T.J.

KSOM moved from Top 40 to more of an uptempo Hot AC in fall of 1976. But then did another format change to Country on 1/1/77 as "K-15".

I assume that K-15 lasted until 1978 when it went to KNSE...

Hey Guys:

I ment to put this on the original post. What does "Adult Easy Listening" mean?

1510 and 93.5 KSOM had that as the format listing from the 73 to 78 yearbooks.

Thanks

T.J.

KSOM made the transition from Beautifull Music to basically AC in 73 and 74. In 1974 it became full blown Top 40. I was there twice. In the summer of 1967 I did 11am to 3pm on top 40 KASK right before the new owners took it to Beautifull, then returned when it was top 40 KSOM 10am to 3pm in 1975. Both times we similcast on 93.5fm.

By 1976, KSOM-FM was running automated Drake Chenault Hit Parade.. That was a lot of transmitting equipment in the back room at KSOM with 2 AM transmitters and the FM transmitter back there...
