Kodachrome

Today Kodak announced it is discontinuing the manufacture of Kodachrome film.
Stand by for these, uh, "headlines." ;)

--Paul Simon reportedly goes into seclusion.

--Tuesday morning, Danny Davis will play, for the first time ever on KOY
local programming, the unedited version of Kodachrome (up to now
it always had the "crap" edited out of it ;D).

--PD Kris announces a "Kodachrome Weekend" on KOOL.

OK, I just made up that last one. :D

On the subject of Rhymin' Simon, Nurse Jeff and I don't recall ever hearing Kodachrome on Lumberyard 14~Forty  And What in The Wide Wide World of Sports is the difference between Ektachrome and Kodachrome? Perhaps Bill Drake and the Old Gringo can give us a 500+ word explanation ;D

1973 is probably too late an era for the Gold Mine, generally speaking
(although if My Way was from '73 instead of '69, it would no doubt
still be in power rotation at the Lumberyard.) ;D

And What in The Wide Wide World of Sports is the difference between Ektachrome and Kodachrome?

Besides the explanation in the Wiki article...when I used to shoot 35mm slides
I almost always used Kodachrome, as Ektachrome tended to have a bluish tint
in the end result.

Kodachrome never faded or lost color. But Ektachrome could be processed at home, Kodachrome required some very sophisticated equipment to processed.
