KODX-LP files a silent STA

this operator has 30 years in the radio business including major market!
I knew someone with a very similar background. They were convinced that because THEY liked classic rock, that a huge audience of people with the same taste would follow. Like you, I tried to point out that the area was predominantly agriculture, and that he really might want to consider Country, rather than CR. As with most stations, 2008 turned the tide, and they were eventually forced to sell.

I've seen this same scenario play out with long-time station engineers and account execs (sales). Somehow, they were convinced if they just did their job, that being an engineer or a sales guy gave them enough experience to run their own station end to end. Problem is; their view on running a business, non-profit or for-profit, is too myopic to succeed.

Exactly. In fact, in both instances it is an expensive iPad. Both broadcasters are simply programming for themselves but wonder why they're not setting the world on fire with their format. I always tell people the hardet part of programming is taking you out of the equation.

Just saw on their BookFace page that they have secured a new studio location at the Jack Straw Cultural Center in the U-District. They should just co-locate with KMGP-LP at McMahon hall on the UW campus. It's literally within walking distance of their current/old site on the University Temple Methodist Church on the other side of campus. If you check the coverage maps at fccdata. org they are almost identical.
I was close. They have filed to go from the top of Kane Hall at the UW. Using a Comet 95 tunable antenna and at reduced power. This feels like temporary facilities until they secure a more permanent installation. Not sure why they aren't using their 1 bay that they had up on the church.
