KOFY-TV 'icon' James Gabbert

Bay Area broadcast legend James Gabbert is often the subject on this board. This morning, the SF Chronicle (and SFGate online) featured an interview with Gabbert, and provided background regarding how and why he came back to KOFY-TV as an unpaid host.

The article also includes some interesting background on his career, some amusing stuff about the early TV20 shows and promotions, how the dog station IDs came about, and more. Also a nice photo of James with his dog...naturally. Worth reading:

Gabbert still fills in on KGO frequently. He was on for Ronn Owens one day last month...or maybe it was June.
