How much does it cost for a FCC licence renewal nowadays?

The only reasoning I can think of is Jerry Rusell is BROKE because of the legal tangles he and his stations have gotten into. See this Mississippi board thread from earlier this year for how badly his stations there are being ran there.

KOFY proably has rang up some huge FCC fines over the years like KRLW (KLUE) did in its last years (running full power at night, overmodulation). A few years ago KOFY was running Gladewater football on friday nights, then running all night with mexican music programming.

Too bad Jerry Hanszen who owns KGAS in Carthage could have picked up KOFY, KZEY and KWRD when he bought KHMT-AM/FM 2 years ago. He revived that station after years of mismanagement and could have done the same for the others..

The way KOFY sounds right now (a loud humm and high end distortion), its proably being ran out of somebody's house and not the KZEY studios.

Thanks, but a codicil--no offense to America's dogs. Especially mine, he's a sensitive Labradore.
