KOGO guts news staff: three fired

Peter Weissbach...

There's a name I haven't heard in a while. He was a strange bit of blustery hot air - in like a lion and out like a lamb. He pretty much disappeared after burning out in San Diego, Seattle, Canada who who knows where else.

Well Jack Evans and Randy Micheals made the decision to switch the stations and the PD was and is Cliff Albert. Bill Thompson pulled the patch cord himself and moved the programming to KOGO. The decision was a no brainer. Leave great programming on a terrible signal of 6 towers on KSDO (once 50kw now 10kw) or move it to the huge 5KW 2 tower 600 KOGO

Well 136kgb, I'll tell you the best station in SD is...........ummm.....well okay, XM Radio and my IPOD.

Wow! I have to agree to that in some aspects: Channel 50/The Loft is my main stay -- except for Fridays on Channel 6 when they do a radio rewind.

I also listen to Rollye James on 165. It's like C2CAM except a bit further on the edge of the sanity knife.

I recently got a car with XM in it and I'm not all that impressed with it. Of course radio and entertainment in general today is lacking quality. I'm just trying to point out that out of the stations in San Diego KOGO is the closest thing to a true radio station we have in San Diego. KyXy died when they fired Yvonne Carlin that was the beginning of the end for the greatness and heritage of that station. By the way Yvonne was shown the door because she has integrity, and fought to do a quality show that was about San Diego, and not a watered down crap bomb show like they have now.

And as for Ipods the audio fidelity of those things are terrible, they give me headaches so bad. The only McIntosh I use for audio was made in 1966 and has tubes, the way audio should sound. Instead of being compressed to the point inaudibility.
