I would not be surprised to learn that Chris Merrill has remorse for his career decision. Even allowing for the deflation in California housing prices, he still had to pay two or three times as much for a house as he did in KC (to say nothing of our gas prices compared to KC), he finds himself on a station here with a seeming lack of direction and realizes KOGO is not a stepping-stone to anything bigger. At one time it was easy to lure air personalities to San Diego for less than they made say in the Midwest because they thought that being 90 minutes from the LA market gave them a foot in the door. Instead they found themselves in a low-paying geographic cul-de-sac and it was going to take a very expensive long-distance move to get back to an affordable area where they might make halfway decent salary.
