I have never heard any evidence of KOHV ever having been on the air. In any case, this past week they applied to change frequency from 99.5 to 95.3, to avoid interference from the translator(s) carrying Radio Dabang.
The nearby KLVL translator (K235CS) on 94.9 had a CP to move to 95.3, but it appears that expired this past September without any change being made. KOHV seems to be taking advantage of that.
KOHV on 95.3 should be sufficiently spaced from other LPFMs on the frequency, and will operate with 57 watts. At my Cy-Fair location I get a weak KTTF on 95.3, but am closer to the KOHV transmitter site. This area of the market used to have KCDE-LP on 95.3, but that license was cancelled in late 2020.
Of course the KOHV move now awaits FCC approval.
