KOKE 1600 on 102.7 translator.

Spanish language KOKE 1600 AM is now being broadcast on the 102.7 translator in Austin.

Good move for BMP, since the 1600 signal is really poor at night. BTW, there are some other AM stations in Texas that have been given an STA to simulcast on FM translators, e.g., KAHL 1310 San Antonio, along with KIMP Mt. Pleasant and KXIT in Dalhart. And there will be a lot more.

No more oldies outlet for Austin unless you have a HD Radio.

So what happened?
I'm thinking an LMA.
BTW-- KOKE is no longer BMP. The Garcia family bought it.
The Garcias were the orginal owners of KELG, KKLB-FM, et al.

My mistake. I didn't realize the deal had actually closed; looks like it happened in March.
