No disrespect to our friends in the hinterland, but the success of Emmis' 250 watt comedy translator proves you can be pretty successful without reaching beyond the center of the Austin metro.
There was strong skip coming in this morning. I turned on 102.7 and thought they had changed format. Flea power is fine until you have to fight off signals booming in from beyond the horizon. That's when it doesn't hurt to have a few kilowatts to fight them off.
I drove Bee Cave to Ben White/I35 this morning and found the 98.5 signal to be significantly better than before. I assume that is because it is now being fed with "alternative means", as a fill-in for 107.1 HDxx.
I think the proposed upgrade will make an additional big improvement as well. Good luck to you with that Mr. Radio.
BTW, kudos to Tom Allen for the Country Gold show...I actually knew most of the artists I heard (showing my age )

My understanding is that Emmis doesn't have a group deal with Arbitron in Austin and doesn't pay extra for KGSR-HD3. Because it's not a subscriber, Arbitron isn't listing it. It doesn't matter to Emmis as their strategy was never to sell it based on the numbers.
Since Arbitron has changed their reporting, from a purely selfish viewpoint, I sure hope the folks at KOKE subscribe so we can keep an eye on things...
