I saw on Facebook that KOKE upgraded to 24kw. I noticed a difference a little here south of Austin, it's not as much HD interference from KISS like it usually is. Anyone else notice a change in signal?
That is SUCH good news. While frankly, I don't personally care for a lot of their programming, they're a local station attempting to serve the community, as opposed to a Clear Channel jukebox. And it will take more watts than they began with to punch through the clutter.
That is good news, hopefully they will be able to draw more form the bigger companies (clear channel, emmis, entercom) who are not from austin. 105.3 is hard to recieve in north austin. 98.5 was a better signal in north austin.
KOKE-FM's application for the upgrade was filed in August and approved September 26th. Nothing official in the way of license to cover, but it looks like a really quick upgrade!
