KOLE returns

without legal IDs and playing music, but with what seems to be a prerecorded message that they are experiencing problems and that their normal format will return soon. The signal seems weaker than previously remembered as well. Not sure where there studio is located now.
 
Heard a old Ronnie Lindon show on there last night. I guess they have a new studio up somewhere's?
 
Its a non-stop Ronnie Linden marathon, with Dominic Brascia doing the top of the hour ID, sometimes at the top of the hour, but the Linden show never stops, he just talks on top of them. Heard Ronnie mention on his 'best of' show that Dominic said something that morning, when he's been gone from this area for months now.

I suppose they have a studio somewhere, but God only knows where it might be. The station sounds awfully weak and poor quality. Maybe they're broadcasting from the transmitter building.
 
IDK Im not having any problems picking it up. I just wonder who the new mangament will be there? I know the guy out of Michagen bought the station. I use to do the sports show over there on Wednsdays and let me tell you between Ralph Mcbride and Dominick as PD it was a crappy situation over there all together.
 
This afternoon the signal is better. There is a guy talking about how is building satellite dishes so that the talk programming can be heard again. In the meantime he has been playing music (off of MP3 files I suppose from a computer) and he is rambling on and on about nothing in general. He says that they are 30 seconds away from getting back into talk radio. Guy sounds like he's stoned.

As it turns out the 'return to talk radio' is a return to the non-stop Ronnie Linden marathon. Plays for about 20 seconds, then guy comes on and says he's sick of talk radio and they are going back to music. Still sounds stoned.
 
Yea I was listening to it this afternoon. Sounds like they are on a loop cause I keep hearing the same songs played when I tune back in every so often. I wonder if they are off of HWY 90? I think I heard a rumor awhile back about them building a site out there??
 
I guess they don't have to file anything with the FCC if they move their studio somewhere else. ;)

I heard the highway 90 rumor also, but don't know where they would build something unless its west of Beaumont out in the sticks.
 
As of Saturday Morning they are still playing the same songs. Im interested to see how this turns out
 
The new owners must have money to burn, playing music that sounds horribly distorted all weekend. It doesn't sound like its getting any better, either. Why fire up the transmitter unless you're ready to get back on the air with your regular programming, unless they don't have any idea what they are going to do with the station long term?
 
Thats the only thing I can think of as of right now. They seem like they are ready to get back on the air but have no personalities and no clue about what format they want. Heck Id go back and start a sports show up for them again for the right price of course :D
 
In what may be a related clue to the future of KOLE, KLVI has taken the Glenn Beck program from KOLE and is now airing it in the morning slot where Dr. Laura :mad: used to reside. I think they've been want to drop her for years.

Perhaps KOLE will have Ronnie Linden non-stop all the time until Birach goes bankrupt.
 
Oh man please dont say that :eek: If thats the case they might as well make it into another AM Spanish Channel like Cumulus did.
 
It seems that Ronnie Linden has gotten tired of talking. Nothing but a carrier for the last 2-3 days.
 
Dominick had been doing afternoons ar WERC in Birmingham, Alabama....until this week when he got caught in the latest CC downsizing. He's on Facebook as Dominick Brascia Show
 
KOLE is still playing classical music, at least from what I can gather through the static here in Houston. Hey, at least KOLE is doing more than their sister KRCM. That thing hasn't brightened the skies of Shenandoah yet, and it's been off in Beaumont for what seemingly has been a year.

Since we're covering the Triangle, stan or someone, has KIKR dropped power from 1kw? 1450 used to come in pretty well here in the Metro, but has become non-existent in the last year or so.
