KOMA on satellite overnight

Since 1520 went all snooze and talk I haven't done much listening to KOMA here in South Dakota. I happened to visit KOMA's web site and noticed they have syndication overnight. How long has that been running? Does the audio for that Classic Top 40 show sound ok on KOMA? Listening via the web site isn't a fair judgment of the audio chain.

Here in Rapid City the station (KFMH) carrying it smashes their audio so flat there is little dynamic range. It sounds especially bad for Classic Top 40 show.

Yes, I mentioned that in the WKY.... WHAT WOULD YOU DO? thread. Originally, when I was looking at the monitors, I thought they were just letting the overnight jock be a little more adventurous, but then I recorded it a couple of weeks ago and found out the truth. At least it's pretty broadly programmed...could be better, but IS better than what's cranked out during 6a-mid. Every once in awhile ol' Kent Jones'll throw in something outré like Apollo 100 or Leon Russell, but normally it's just a snoozefest. When they started doing their random play weekends, that was pretty nice at first, but he's scaled that back drastically. Funnily, the satellite is on a 5 hour loop, so what's played at midnight regurgitates at 5am until Danny Williams kicks in at 5:30. Here's what got played last night (this morning) that isn't in KOMA's regular rotation:

YOU BELONG TO ME Carly Simon
TOO LATE TO TURN BACK NOW Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose
MAKE ME SMILE Chicago
OUTTA SPACE Billy Preston
SEPTEMBER Earth Wind And Fire
ME AND JULIO DOWN BY THE SCHOOLYARD Paul Simon
BOOGIE SHOES KC and The Sunshine Band
LIGHT MY FIRE José Feliciano
LOVE TRAIN The O'Jays
BETH Kiss
YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND Queen
COCONUT Nilsson
I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU Art Garfunkel
CUT THE CAKE Average White Band
NIGHTS ON BROADWAY Bee Gees

Better than just running jockless overnights. :-\

Still KOMA's become a shell of the great 50's-to-70's oldies station it was in the 90's.
