I hope they bring in someone from WCBS NYC or WTOP DC

I agree with KMan and respectfully disagree with wpb1999. Seattle -- especially KOMO -- is a market of unquestionable talent, and I believe a high-profile position like this calls for someone who's synonymous with Seattle radio. I don't think you will get that with someone from an out-of-town market. In my humble opinion, if KOMO gets it right, they will appoint someone in-house to fill this opening.

That said, the position was just posted again on the All Access job board on Monday. That might lead me to believe they're having trouble finding the specific skill set they're looking for.

Good point. KIRO, after all, groomed Yeend for years and then KOMO grabbed him from retirement. KIRO then groomed ANOTHER anchor for years and let HIM go about two years ago (But that might be too easy).

I hope you are right, my point was is that it will probably be someone from out of town. I live here in Atlanta but have a second home in Magnolia and when I am in WA I enjoy listening to KOMO. It's a special radio station, all news in a non-top 10 market. It is perfect radio station. I personally think that the morning show should remain a man and a woman, it works well. I did know that Bill Yeend was retiring over a month ago, a friend at the station forwarded me FSCI's e~mail. It is pretty sad!
