Just Give Nancy a partner middays. Are nights tracked? Of course, they replay Newsline, but they have someone there doing the top and bottom of the hour news. If that's not tracked, then problem solved.multiplex said:They should move Schram and Carlson, but I doubt that they will.
Because now that would leave several holes, sinced they've made KOMO so Carlson/Shram-dependent.
That would leave all-nights vacant 7 days a week.
They've put themselves in a place where a minimum of 10 hours every weekday and probably 14 weekend hours are Carlson orSchram.
They didn't do that when Carlson andSchram were there before.
It's the KOMO 14-hour-a-day newsroom.
They'll never say that, but as a listener, that's the way I seeit.
I wonder how long it would take KOMO 1000 to ramp up coverage if we had a 5.5 quake at 2 AM on aSunday.
Two years ago it would have been pretty quick.
Duckworth has made some positive moves, I must give him credit.
He inherited quite a mess. But I don't know whether the decimation of all-nights had more to do with economic mandates from higher up.
Too bad if they did, because all-news works best when it's always there to depend on.

Yup, Gregg's back on June 11. And now that Mr. Duckworth has mornings sorted out, he can get to work on rebuilding the afternoon mess. I'm hearing Herb wants to go back to TV, and as for his partner...let's just say KIRO knew what they were doing when they let her go.
Ouch!!
I would like to get the old biz guy back so I could follow the stock market and the news that affects it and my money in a timely fashion. Not a day later.

talkerdjdude said:Heard a little bit of the KOMO mornings with Gregg Hersholt. Morning news radio finally sounds good. I've never been a fan of Bill Radke. The hype far exceeds his talent. He bumbles through the morning with no energy, no point, hoping someone around him will say something smart while he's busy crafting a f-ing poem. Give me a break. Gregg back in the morning will steal any serious news listeners from KIRO easy.
