KOMO pays tribute to fallen colleagues with new set

http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/seattle-stations-new-set-pays-tribute-to-colleagues/155848

“After our input meeting with the management staff at KOMO, we took a stroll down to Victor Steinbrueck Park which has commanding views of Elliot Bay, Pike Place Market and the Seattle skyline,” said Dan Devlin, owner and chief creative strategist of Devlin Design Group. “The sun was shining, the sketchbook was out, and the creative inspiration was instantaneous! The initial concept sketch was completed in less than an hour, this one just poured out like great Seattle coffee!”

I absolutely love that news set. About time someone in Seattle got a revamped set. I'm glad it was dedicated to Kathi. Still weird not having her on KOMO over 3 years after her death.

Yeah, looks pretty good. Of course, KIRO also entered a new set into the fray recently. And KING will next year with their new digs near Safeco. The KOMO and KIRO sets are upgrades, but the camera angles so far have been weak, IMO. Why not show off these new sets? Come on, guys, don't be shy. I watched KIRO for a full hour and never saw the full set, just close-ups.

Sorry for quoting myself...but after a few weeks of working out the kinks, the talent seems to feel more comfortable in their new digs at KOMO and KIRO. Good job. Now it will be interesting to see what KING does next year with their new SoDo studio.
