I gotta admit I wasn't expecting much out of this show - I mean, just how much Schram v. Carlson can one stand?

But I have to admit it's refreshingly different, entertaining, and has the potential to be a big hit.

Memo to the KOMO brass: Take the restrictor plates off these guys! They're debating, but it's almost catty rather than vicious.

One more KOMO disaster.

Remember this is the station that hired Ernie Brown, then fired Ernie Brown, then hired Ernie Brown, then gave Ernie Brown morning drive AND afternoon drive, then Fired Ernie Brown.

This is the station that put Dr. Joy Brown on the air. Then took her off. Then put her back on. Then took her off.

This is the station that spent nearly a million dollars to steal Dr. Laura away from the Buzz after she had already peaked. Then took her off the air.

Same thing with Pat Cashman. As the show was fading on the Buzz, KOMO picked it up, then took him off the air.

This is the station that put Art Bell, a nighttime show, in AFTERNOON DRIVE. After one book, they realized what everyone else already knew: that was stupid.

This is the station that hired Bill Gallant. Then fired him after he was diagnosed with colon cancer.

This is the station that hired Rick Miller out of Spokane knowing full well exactly the type of show he did. Then fired him.

This is the station that finally found a format. But, like everything else they do, they can't stick with it. They've changed format again. Bye Bye to the all-news format. And hello again to another dreadful attempt by KOMO to do talk.

They yanked Ken Schram off the air once already. Let the betting begin on how long this stint lasts!!

I completely disagree! I am not a big AM radio fan, but
think the back and forth between Carson and Shramm is pretty
fun. Now that Fisher has got their AM fixed, time to work on
the FM. Notice that KLSY and KBKS have cut out the music in
the morning and ramped up their shows. KPLZ's morning show
just stays the course. KBKS was getting killed by KUBE and now
play hardly any music. Preston wisely focused on personality
and will see ratings payoff. KLSY was having trouble, but now
Mitch has been unleashed to kick some butt and it sounds good.
Adam Corolla also sounds damn good. Look for KOMO, KBKS, KLSY
and THE END to show big improvement this Fall. Who goes down?
KIRO, KPLZ, KUBE, KMPS, KZOK and KRWM. This is the year these
stations begin to feel the heat from the new sound of WOLF,
KLSY, KBKS and KOMO. Changes are afoot!

Huh?

Mitch being 'unleashed?' By who? KLSY doesn't even have a permanent program director. And what would he be 'unleashing?'

Also, KLSY and KBKS play four or five songs in hour in the morning. KPLZ plays eight per hour in the morning. Do you see a corrleation as to why Kent & Alan do better than Mitch or Jackie & Bender?

The only line I'm having trouble with..."Mitch has been unleased to kick some butt". What radio station are you listening to man....KLSY sounds as bad as any radio station I've ever listened to in this market!!

Where in your post do you address what is wrong with the show or why it will fail?

I think I missed that.

With all the past failures that you pointed out, at first I thought you were talking about KIRO. But, then I did the math...all the things you pointed out happened 3 years ago or longer, All of KIRO's major failures have happened in the past 3 (since you guys botched the Mariner contract) But, I guess that's for another thread, right 'Eastlake'-Linercard

What an amazing gift you have, that you can predict the demise of this show after just 3 days.

C'mon, is this the best you got???

Check the ratings dude. KOMO peaked with their 2nd baseball season. Tanking since. No hope of recovery with a talk show format change.

So...adding a news and analysis longform program with pair of market established "Commentators" is now a complete and total format change...I guess with the addition of New "Hawk" Vinnie in evenings, you guys have switched format to what...sports-radio? Enjoy the next few weeks, it'll be a long off-season for the Hawks.

And, please show me again how you guys have been re-bounding since 2002...Oh, that's right, you DON'T want me to look at those ratings, do ya now.

So Long Sport-o.

By the way...you still forgot to tell me what's wrong with the show, and why it will fail.
