KOMO

I noticed today that KOMO is now on 93.7 also. What is going with that? Did they also do an LMA with KANY or is their a technical problem. I know KANY is supposed to move their tower at South Mountain where 99.3 and 97.7 are also. Why would KOMO be on 93.7 also. Has anybody heard it on there also?

KOMO is no longer on there. But it was when I was listening 20 minutes ago.

Interesting. Last week I was trying to listen to KPTK/1090 at home and got interference from a nearby signal. I tuned up a notch to 1100 and there was KOMO, in full clarity. For a few minutes, the 1100 signal was coming in every bit as clear as their 1000 signal.

I don't know how long that lasted but it's back to normal today.

Hard to have confidence in a company that's desperately trying to sell its own headquarters building...

Interesting.. Could you please explain what a building has to do with a broadcast company? There are a lot of buildings available out there which could house a radio or TV operation.

Also, if you go back and read past information about the topic, you'll see that a company is essentially trying to conduct a hostile takeover to own the buildings, not that Fisher is "desperately trying to sell" them.

As a suggestion..If you don't know anything about a subject because you haven't even taken the time to use Google to search on the topic, your ignorance shines like a beacon when posting with people who have taken the time.

Oh trust me, I've been called worse. As long as we're trading impressions, you seem like someone who when caught not knowing what you're talking about, turns to childish name calling in an effort to cover up ignorance.

Okay that being said; it doesn't alter the question posed: Regardless of you're being wrong about Fisher "desperately trying to sell its own headquarters building", what difference does it make if they were?

I noticed again just now they are still on 93.7 and it has a better signal in Auburn then 97.7, I wonder if Bill knows about what's going on.

Licensee: SOUTH SOUND BROADCASTING, LP
Service Designation: FX Translator Station (retransmits signal, different channel than main station)

Channel/Class: 229D Frequency: 93.7 MHz Modification of Construction Permit
File No.: BMPFT-20091013ABR Facility ID number: 142716
CDBS Application ID No.: 1337444
This station rebroadcasts KOMO-FM (FM).

So there you have it. It's a translator in Auburn, rebroadcasting KOMO-FM.

Wonder when KOMO will pick up that crappy KBRC translator on 102.1?

Old topic but I noticed 93.7 KOMO is back on, the Auburn xlator. It had been off for several months, when I was in Auburn I received CJJR Vancouver and KANY Ocean Shores during that time. But when I noticed it, it was in AM quality, worse than 97.7.

Unless the translator is fed via transmission line the way the main station is fed, how does an am station sound like an fm station on a translator? My theory is it's being fed off the am signal, but I don't understand why they would do that.
