I have been listening to KOMO a lot lately, I usually check in when I get up in the morning for about an hour, and between half an hour and a full hour before I go to bed. I like the fact that the newsradio promos actually have current headlines, not headlines from like 2 weeks ago. However, I have noticed something over the last few weeks, at least one of the stories is one that even if you listen for the full hour, you aren't likely to hear it. Sometimes there are promos already done for today when I get up, other days it's afternoon before those are ready. I remember one day I think it was last week where they ran a piece from ABC about a shooting, 4 people killed including the gunman. If I recall correctly, I tuned in just before the top of the hour as I was getting up and heard that in one of the promos. Usually, if there is a shooting like that, ABC is all over it. Instead, they probably buried it in the second segment of there newscast, which KOMO only airs nights after 9 and on weekends. Needless to say, I didn't hear what that was about until later that afternoon when Tom Huttyler mentioned a fifth victem had died. It was only then that I heard what had happened, some guy walked into his work in Minneapolis and killed 4 of his co-workers. But my point is, why is this in the promo if most people won't hear it?
