disclaimer, I'm the Lotus Las Vegas Chief Engineer. The lobby of our station was never inteneded to be a performance hall. It's acoustics don't seem to lend them self well to that application. Thursday's performance was a bit of a mess with the intended performer not showing up and two other groups pressed in to service at the last mnute. Equipment problems bugged us, and Carlotta learned real quick not to stand in front of the monitors, a lesson she knew but had forgotten in the rush to get something decent on the air and for our studio audience. Carlotta is a superb professional but was a bit flustered by the turn of events. Same equipment, same location, same Carlotta friday probably sounded a lot better. Same exact studio but a chance to set it up carefully in advance and the talent that was scheduled, showed up. The stage band equipment in use for the band/talent is Sweet Al Miller's from the KOMP morning show and he did a great job of interfacing stage band gear to our broadcast system. My apologies for problems on Thrusday, but hopefully the great live broadcast of Frday might have made up for it.
