KONO 860

In the last week, there have been a few times when I could not receive KONO-AM in the car in Austin. I don't know if they have been operating at reduced power on AM was off the air.

Yesterday, I heard a tone and within the hour, I tuned in again and heard regular programming. So something is going on with the AM. <P ID="signature">______________

What time of day were you tuning in to kono?

KONO, Cox, and KKYX

I have always wondered why Cox Radio, with a tradition of HUGE news/talks (WSB, KRMG) didn't keep the news tradition in San Antonio to go up against WOAI. 680 had a killer signal and used to be a huge news station in the early 90's... Just an observation.. 680 and 860 are big daytime signals...

Strange, were you near fiber lines power lines etc? Those realy cause interference if your under high votage or lines that are carring a lot of electricity. Or they could of been having Tech problems at the tower I havnt heard that yet, would be interesting to see what that problem was.

Just to clarify something, I make the same trip every Wednesday afternoon, and I can receive KONO AM without a problem on the whole route. That day, I could not get them in the usual spots and at times, I heard a test tone.
