KONO AM 860 soon to be HD???

http://www.hdradio.com/#stationGuideWidgetry

That's according to hdradio.com's station guide, as seen in the link above. Why would KONO make both their AM & FM stations HD? Unless they are planning on putting 50s-60s oldies on the AM side, which would make sense. On the other hand, it wouldn't because they could put that on 101.1's HD2. Well, it seems now that they are really trying to push HD radio now. Also, apparently, K-Rock is comming back...on Jack's HD2.

Yay for finding old posts like this.

Jack has *never* broadcasted in HD. And the KONO AM thing seems to have not worked out either.

NO!!!! We need all the strength we can get on KONO here in Houston ---- HD will sap their power like a vampire sucking blood!!!!

Well, since AM HD is a complete and utter failure and it's impossible to purchase any kind of HD radio outside of a car showroom (where it's buried as an afterthought into multimedia systems), perhaps we can finally put this ugly concept to bed?

Really? ;)

I have a JVC HD receiver in one of my vehicles. Paid about $30 for it and another $100 for installation. Other pages on that site imply that CC is invested in the Total Traffic HD+ concept that pushes traffic data to HD receivers.

Yeah - I have a Garmin with it. Good luck getting traffic information, most of the time it doesn't work at all. And I'm within 20 miles of full class C towers. That sure doesn't bode well for folks trying to get HD with car radios, especially with the non-existent antennas in new cars.

I have a Garmin GPS with traffic receiver. I've always wondered how they make their money. Off of ads those small pop-up ads?
