KONO first time at #1?

The Tom Taylor newsletter says, ''It's the first time in its 18-year history that KONO has ranked at #1.''

It seems to me oldies KONO-AM/FM has been number 1 before. Or am I mistaken?

It was #1 25-54 for most of the early 2000's , but not 12 plus(always got beat by the Beat), hat's of to Roger Allen and crew!

That's good news. That's a well-programmed station that's really enjoyable to listen to. I just wish I could find out how many folks are listening to the AM side!

Before the am-fm numbers were combined the am pulled in anywhere from a fraction of a point to 1.5 or 2 points depending on the day part. I would guess they get a 1 point bump these days...

KONO wins by default. Nobody at COX can program near them. CC can only smack them with KZEP and they blew it. BMP can only smack them with KTFM or JACK and they blew it. This is the horror of radio today. Little or no competition. Signed, seriously unimpressed. YAAAWWWWNNNN

If everyone else ran out of gas and you win, it's still a win.

Agreed. Can't wait to listen when I drive into town this weekend. I wish K-Hits in Houston was like KONO. There's a similar format on its hd-2 channel, but who the hell has an HD radio?
