KOOI/Jacksonville Reverts to Classic Hits

Had a good friend post on Facebook that KOOI has dropped their recent spin of "Wheel of Formats" and went back to Classic Hits. Anybody else notice it?

His post said they stunted with Brenda Lee's "I'm Sorry" prior to relaunching the classics.

I'm thinking perhaps they had too much competition from the likes of KTYL, KLJT/KFRO-FM and perhaps KAPW.

I heard that KOOI was doing well with Classic Hits. But after Alpha Media bought the Longview/Tyler cluster they were forced to switch to Hot AC to battle KTYL, which I thought was a bad move. They played a loop of Brenda Lee's "I'm Sorry" for a day and then switched this weekend. I'm glad it's back though KOOI's music mix is nowhere as diverse as KDOK's is.

I dont think Mega 99.3 was really a factor. They're almost all Spanish language music now.
