KOOI Running Short-handed?

Just noticed Paul Moore's conspicuous absence from KOOI's website. Any scoop?

I've heard several different stories.

One that he was fired
One that he was asked to resign
One that he left on his own and is going to work at the WOLF in Dallas

Either way, he is no longer there. Rick Evans is the new Program Director...congrats! I've never worked with Rick, but I've heard nothing but good things about him from people that have worked with him in the past. He's one of the good guys in radio. I wish him luck...I just hope that too much damage hasn't been done to KOOI by the management of Access 1. They allowed that station to go from first to worst in the short time they have owned it. Will they ever recover?

In a related note...Angelina Case has moved from mid-days at KDOK to mid-days at KOOI as of last week. I'm not sure who has taken her place at KDOK...if anyone yet.

Too much turnover, shuffling the lineups, the music has skewed to a more current/recurrent presentation. I know Dudley Waller probably got a lot of money for selling this station to A-1, but he should have kept it and sold the rest of his stations. It had definitely changed for the worse, the last time I was up that way and was able to listen.

This is another puzzler, because Access-1 has done a decent job with their Shreveport operation. Not the case, with "The East Texas Radio Group".

Does anybody know if Amy Austin has gotten a new gig. I always enjoyed listening to her.

Thanks for the update. Angelina didn't last long at KDOK. And I hope Amy got a new gig somewhere, too.

Who knows Amy could wind up at KDOK doing middays. We can hope. What was the deal with her and Randy Ricci (Charlie O) at KOOI? They sure didn't last very long. Also, we'll see what GAP does when they take over for Clear Channel. Maybe Amy would wind up back at KNUE.

snoman, you've got mail.

Speaking of Randy Ricci, did anyone know that he is now the PD for JACK and the BLAZE? I just found out about it myself, but didn't know if someone had mentioned it on a post that I may have missed.

Been finding that out. I called him over there three months ago and he seems to be doing very good so far. As for Amy, there may be a possibility she may get back to putting KNUE back on the country map. But I'm sure they'll perservere greatly.

If there ever was anyone that could put Humpty Dumpty (aka KNUE) back together again, it would certainly be Amy.

Congrats to Rick Evans as new PD.

Rick is a great guy -- I worked with him years ago and stopped by to see him last year at the station. He is still as friendly now as he was way back then.....good luck with the job!

Yes, Rick Evans is a great guy. He taught my daughter some years ago. Sounds great on the air, better than ever. He'll be missed in the teaching field a great deal though. The new line up at KOOI sounds good. The music has taken a slight turn toward the Hot AC in just the month I've been out of town. Got back a few days ago and almost thought I was listening to 93.1. Amy was always a major player in this market. We all have our slumps, she'll come back strong! I hope it's KNUE. KDOK is another story though. I think Angelina got smart to get out when she did. I HEAR the Gleiser stations are on the block. Well, KTBB for sure. JUST a rumor about KDOK and KEES.

Okay, I'm hearing the rumors too. But who's getting KTBB?

I've heard the same thing. If 'BB is on the block and KEES is not, any speculation on who the potential suitors for 'BB are? And given that KEES and KTBB simulcast alot of their programming (Rush, Smoak, etc.), what potential format changes may be in the offing for either?
