Kool 100.7 kontest idea

Well Tommy, if KOOL would get a PD that actually knows the music and if he'd play what listeners want to hear, we wouldn't be listening to the same ole' songs hour after hour.

Tom Murphy certainly sounds like he knows the format, Renda should make him the PD! ;)

P.S. If the only reply anyone has is "budget" I don't want to hear it; it's been discussed on here way toooooo much! 'World Famous' needs to be given a chance and if Renda does give him a chance, KOOL's ratings will go up considerably!

P.S.S. Has anyone noticed that an oldies song is played in nearly every movie that's out their? The Oldies format isn't dead... it's alive and well... and we need to hear the music we love!

I use to work on the same station as Tom, he knows what he is doing and would be a great programmer. The budget crap is hogwash and is a great card for people to play.

Folks, this station ain't gettin it done. Dump the lame format and make it Movin 100.7. That's a long-time viable format and will work!!! The signal is better but the format stinks!! :(

I would love it if some Company would do a Movin format around here......much better chance of succeeding now than back in the day with the Groovin Oldies format....the versionn Seattle is doing now sounds great!

longtime viable format? u mean the 2006 version of jammin oldies that didn't work 10 years ago?????

Why would renda ever waste a "movin" format on a frequency like 100.7 that has a sub standard signal in Jacksonville. 96.1 maybe but not 100.7. Then again they would have to spend money to market it. Market a station? Why bother when people will eventually find them by 2015. They can wait. Look how long they stuck with "arrow". Guess mr renda doesn't like spending his money but just spinning his wheels. When 102 and 106 change formats very soon goodbye 96

Dump 100.7 puh-leeze!!!

Good call Tommy. 102.9 and 106.5 are flipping to what we don't know, but very soon we will.........96 has bounced back nicely but the market could still support a better rock station and the movin format is viable long-term endeavor. Why is that in Tampa, their stations on 93.3, 97.9 and 100.7 are all 100k and have great signals?? The same stations here on those frequencies have crap signals, what gives???? Nobody will listen to a station they can't pick up in their cubicle at work, why bother?

I'm in Miami, and we have the same thing with Orlando (and some Tampa) stations: same channel interference. WHYI-100.7 in Ft. Laud is 100k at 1000ft on the Dade/Broward line - city grade as far north as Boca/Delray (south of Homestead) and gets worse to Jupiter, north of West Palm until it disappears around Hobe Sound/Stuart; Same channel as WKQL Brunswick, WMTX Tampa/St. Pete. With you guys in Jax, WMTX would be audible in your area if it wasn't for KQL on from Brunswick. Or WHYI; who knows.

WFLZ-93.3 Tampa; 100k at 1200-someodd ft. Covers West/Central FL pretty good. Check radio-locator.com for exacts. WROO Callahan; 50k at 400 someodd ft. north of the metro. Same channel interference.

Laws of soundwaves and physics.
