KOOL 101.9 -Missing DJ's

What's up with KOOL? The DJ's have been silent for two days now. The office sec. says, DJ's will return to the air on Monday. She did NOT say the the current staff (current as of last Friday), would return. Looks like a new staff for KOOL.

Did I hear it right? Boss Radio???

Don't fool yourself. Rick Stewart (FM version) does not take time for radio boards.

Of course he doesn't, he's too busy making his station jockless, raising everybody's eyebrows. Remember, it's Sacramento's FUN oldies station... with no jocks of course.

Maybe they’re going to make KCCL Top 40/CHR... Oh wait sorry, this is the Sacramento Board.

He's here, alright. He's admitted being "iamfmdj", and he knows stuff and has posted stuff on this board only the KCCL PD would know.

Perhaps he's "stunting" in his new incarnation here!

What could they be changing to? They have been sounding good lately. They were even taking away some satellite radio listening time. Wouldn't be suprised if they simulcast with KFRC, these days anything can happen. Well, I can always go back.

Sounds like KNCI might have some competition again? Although, Entravision is not much known for their country outlets????

Entravision is not much known for their general market radio stations, period. And of late, their Spanish stations are also suffering from poor management decisions. There's also the lingering speculation that the company will unload its radio division sometime in '06, and some think Clear Channel would do well to pick up the 101.9 stick, making it a Sacramento player on a par with Entercom and Infinity. It's quite possible that whatever change takes place in the next few days will only have changed again a year from now.

if your going to take on KNCI-105.1! But will it still be "Cool" to listen? But they are saying that the new boss wants to meet you, so be there or be square!

The KCCL-FM 101.9 website is now under construction!!! Sacinside just maybe right and we just may have a new competitor for KNCI-FM. Another horse race for the country music station crown in Sacramento! Won't this be exciting??? Yawn!!!
As far as Joey Mitchell is concerned he couldn't get any ratings on KCCL when it was oldies so why does Rick Stewart think it will be any better with country music? Mitchell's success on KRAK 1140 back in the day was just that back in the day you had to be there. It was another time and I really don't think he will be able to relate to the country audience of today as he did back in the day. This horse race is just going to move KNCI-FM out of the top ten stations or at least move KNCI-FM out of the top five while KCCL-FM trades their current numbers for who knows what. That is if this flip to country really happens in the morning but I will be out of town and won't know till later in the day.

Country vibe in Sacramento? KNCI-FM is and has been for a long time just Rock and Roll with a twang. True Country music died a long time ago!

They were sounding good and recently evolved into more 70's music. They went up in the last book, why would they want to change without giving this a further chance? If they go country...more of a reason to stay with satellite.

I hate how Joey mitchell has been counted out by some. I think he just needs to get back on a Country station, spend some time talking to a consultant, keep an open mind to update his approach, lose 25 pounds, get a better hair piece, get some pulls and tucks, get his teeth whitened, buy some new clothes and eat less starch and I think he's the man for the job. Joey is da man!

Your screen name is awfully familar to the screename we know is Rick Stewart. And your profile says something about 101.9 FM.
