So, IreneCaraFan and everyone else who cares, I did know after all-- even though I didn't know I know.

Let's take a trip back nearly 12 years! Turns out in my evergrowing archive, I have an unmarked aircheck cassette tape which happens to be of Randy Stevens on KOOL in 1997. I didn't convert the entire tape to .mp3, but I scoped a :47 second preview. The quality is how it was on the cassette.

Now that's the KOOL so many out of the demo old farts and Buckeye Boyz know and enjoyed! Dunno who said it, but today's KOOL sounds more like Classic Hits KSLX with the Four Tops thrown in!

Reach Out and Kool Listener Lauren Will Be There. Just don't confuse her with Bernadette or Walk Away with Rene, otherwise you'll find yourself in Still Waters 'cause There Aint No Woman Like KLL! Not even Nurse Jeff :eek: :eek:

...I can say that the voice on the 'check does indeed sound like
Randy Stewart from KZZP in the early 1980s.
 
Lauren, wow, that was awesome! What a great way for me to remember one of my favorites! Funny thing is... I almost vaguely remember hearing that break about Skippy back in 1997 - live! Seemed like I had heard it before!!

Sounds like you have a neat collection of airchecks for the late 90s when KOOL was such a big part of my life, as a listener!

It's inspired me to go through my many hours of tapes for the good ol' days!

Would love to trade airchecks from the late 90s with you someday!!

If Randy only knew we were still admiring him after all these years!
