Kool 96.7 (WKHL) is now THE COAST!

It was reported on another reputable board that WKHL (Kool 96.7), an oldies station out of Stamford, CT has changed format. Upon tuning in as the change happened 10 minutes ago from this posting, the station is now known as "96.7 - The Coast" and appears to be adult contemporary in format. I heard Madonna "Get Into The Groove" followed by Earth Wind & Fire's "Brick House".

They also stream!

Is this AC, or is this Variety Hits?

It was the COMMODORES after Lionel Richie left: their only other post-Lionel hit was "Night Shift":
and I had KOOL pre set in my car,but still get 102.9 WDRC ,another great oldies station from Conn.,as well as Shannon on 850 AM,
and then I jump to Party105 to hear what the DreDog's got cooking, and then Z100 to maintain my youthful vigor, and a quick dash back to KTU,and then a twist back to RadioX to see if my latest "Music Xtra's" are ever going to see the sunlight!

I think it sounds like an "AC-Gold" rather then "Variety Hits".

Sorry dude, "Brick House" was a hit long before Lionel Richie went solo. It reached number 5 in the fall of '77.

I have seen the video for that song when I worked for the now defunct Motown Cafe in Orlando. Lionel was not the lead singer on that. He played the sax

Never said he was the lead singer. I was indicating that he was still a member of the Commodores when "Brick House" was a hit.

wonderful...
I live right under their tower too... Just got home for vacation. nothing like hearing madonna now in the backround when I am listening to a nyc radio station when their is dead air.
any Ideas when this might mean for 95.9 the fox in the future?
