KOOL Listener Lauren on Radio Freedom!

KOOL Listener Lauren said:
I'm astounded by this entire thread. Either you guys are: a.) an easily pleased crowd (which I don't exactly believe so), b.) unlike myself, listeners that are sometimes much too kind with very little constructive criticism, or c.) none of the above, but oh so cool! Regardless, I've got to personally thank everyone for each and every comment, and for taking the time to tune into my very first show. Somehow, it'd typically seem a recipe for an embarrassing situation, but it's been a pleasure.

Comments and many more lengthy emails have shown me that I've accomplished one goal with flying colors, regarding the feedback and opinions on the music selection. I had a theory behind it, as I tied one hand behind my back and focused from a different angle. Notice, the very little-- if any-- real chart toppers, which would have skewed the opinion for very different reasons than what I was looking for. That technical confusing way I think, plus the fact that the program, after all, is called "Radio Freedom"!

Maybe it's a bit obvious that programming is "my thing", but this was a blast. And then, of course...

I've critically gone over my show again and again, nit-picking and correcting. I'll put the pressure on myself now by guaranteeing that round two-- whenever that may be-- will be a hundred times better.

Thanks so much for your time... and ears!

KLL,

One observation about the playlist. The thought has always been in the back of my mind that chart toppers are force fed
to the listeners, meanwhile people buy the music (or download it) for the deep cuts.

I have always wondered why stations/labels don't look at actually "Playing what the listeners want" and labels promoting whole CD releases instead of the songs one by one.

I still believe in a "Pay to Play" scenario when and "IF" radio has to start paying royalties. Or playing more indie music that would be royalty-free for those more obscure acts.

Lauren I believe you were onto something there.
