I just remember John Michaels Esparza as another name. What was the other, out of curiosity?

That sounds right. I may have mislead. What I meant was that John had used a Hispanic "third" name, not three different names. He used it for several months IIRC then it just disappeared (maybe near or at the same time that Gardner left KOOL). John definately has an entertaining and talented voice.

And they did it because the boss at the time wanted to reach out to more hispanic listeners... so I've been told. Funny, huh? :D

When I once was a fanatic listener of KOOL I seem to remember that most callers and/or winners of contests seemed to have Hispanic names or accents and also seemed to fit the "oldies" demographic. Now, for the limited amount of time I spend on KOOL, it seems like most callers are either truck drivers or machinists or summat. (I know....how do you tell?)

Mojo might like to know that the "Hollywood Insider" segment is on around 7:15am, not 7:45 as noted on the web site.

I'm almost positive Mojo only works on the page during the show (pictures, captions, winners, etc.). Whoever made that mistake was probably the webmaster of the whole entire site, because everything Mojo did to the page this morning was undone this afternoon. Now it's on yesterday's page.

One thing I remember about Gardner.....he was the most exacting DJ I've ever heard. Hollywood Insider came on every morning at exactly 7:15 and you could set the atomic clock by it (excepting cell phone issues of course). Now it seems to vary by several minutes each way. I once had my alarm clock set to miss those annoying car dealer commercials which came on immediately after the 7am news. Now if I do that I sometimes miss the dulcet tones of Mike Evans entirely. I need my morning Britney fix. (NOT!) ;D
