www.oldies1033.com WODS Boston's Oldies Station knows the value of their listeners 35+ and how to best serve them.

Maybe Tony Renda and radio should take a few notes. Most advertisers want
customers 35 and over, because they've got the MONEY and will pay more
for quality! While most adults 25-30 simply have not reached their peak earnings
potential. It's better to be something to somebody, than trying to appeal
to everybody and Oldies 103.3 understand this point.

We understand new stations take time to develop, but market 49 is not the place
for self discovery. Renda should already know and have hit the ground running with all the players place. I’m afraid listeners will grow tired of their Mickey Mouse operation and once they leave it’s VERY EXSPENSIVE to get them back or even find new listeners.

No but the only station worth complaining about. Hey Tony Renda
or local Renda mangaement don't you catch our drift ? 100.7 is
a joke. Or can't you really hear how bad your radio station sounds.
If maybe your wondering why your having problems hiring or keeping
salespeople for KOOL, guess what, they can hear KOOL. How can you
posssibly think ad's can be sold on a station thats run by people
who really don't even give a damn. When are you going to pull your head
out, when you decide the format flip was a mistake? >

> The format flip wasn't a mistake - The mistake seems to be the fact that the correct elements haven't been put in place yet to maximize the return for their listeners, advertisers and their bottom line. I still believe the Oldies format can be a revenue generator in Jacksonville. But, you've got to give the people a reason to listen and create a demand for KOOL 100.7 This station needed to be better than the old Cool 96.9, not a jockless jukebox!

Re: Holy cow, how many Kool posts do we need?

We'll continue to complain until we have a descent OLDIES station!

Bill Schull are you listening? Arf's joke of the day is a JOKE!!! Your jockless station isn't worth listening to. Why don't you tell the powers~to~be that you want to hire a full 'professional' air staff so you can give Jacksonville what it deserves?

I'm sure there are a few DJ's in the area that are biting at the bit to get back on the air, where they belong. Jacksonville's airwaves haven't been the same w/o Tom Murphy.

Not everyone is a Lite fan!

There's no question about what needs to be done. The big question is, WHEN? This flip happened at March and here were are at the end of June. I'm sure that the salespeople must be getting a real earfull from potential clients when they hit the streets. Who in their right mind would buy this?

Flipping to oldies was probably a good idea, but like ANY format, if it ain't done right, the ratings won't come and neither will the big bucks. With a lot of stations attempting to get the younger demographics that leaves this format wide open for some hefty revenue. Adults over 40 have more money to spend than their younger counterparts and a lot of advertisers are realizing that. But again, it has to be done right. Listeners are used to a much higher quality station than this mess!

Why don't you pick up the phone and call Tony Renda in Pittsburgh and tell him your thoughts, I'm sure he would love to hear them.
