KOST fans will hate it or love it

Depanding upon what you think of a "certain holiday", buuuuuuttt...

They have already started a countdown clock to when they'll go all Christams at www.kost1035.com

Damn, I was hoping they would shill that crap to KYSR or KBIG. Oh well.

Oh yeah, no mention of their HD2 Channel on the HD Radio Webpage, but instead 150 reasons why I should go buy a HD Radio. What's up with that anyways?<P ID="signature">______________

Okay, it's got to be awful for the jocks after a week or so, but it gives KOST a great boost in numbers. They do a pretty good job with it, and the Christmas Wish promotion that they've done since the early 80's rounds it all out.
Can't imagine Star or KBIG doing it. KOST owns Christmas, and it fits better there than anywhere else. The only down side is the loss of the regular format for so long... I'll bet that they'll promote HD when there are a few more receivers out there. They want people to buy one.

This is what happens when you have no head to head competition.
Remember, KOST took on all comers over the last 20 plus years.
Gone are KHTZ, KMGG, Lite, Touch, EZ, KBIG, etc... All of them changed
format to something else. Their only competition now would be KTWV.
The WAVE does well, but they sound weird coming out of some Supremes
or other Motown tune and calling it Smooth Jazz. They seem to be neck
& neck with each other most of the time with one ahead in one book and
the other ahead in the next ARB. By the way, less Celine isn't so bad.

Amen to that. Jerry Cesak, of Jeff & Jer, refers to her as "the screamin' Canadian toothpick." :D

1500 people perish on the Titanic....and Celine keeps singing!!
Probably didn't even get wet.

The countdown clock on KOST-103.5's homepage actually refers to the amount of time until the beginning of Christmas Day, and appears to be adjusted for the time zone one is in.

For instance, where I am near Boston, the clock is counting down to 12 Midnight Eastern Time on December 25th, the start of Christmas.

Chances are, KOST will go all-Christmas long, long before that. Maybe as soon as next Tuesday (November 1st), but in any event, probably on or by November 15th.

It could be worse: Instead of the local "Lovesongs On The Coast" with Karen Sharp, KOST could be broadcasting Delilah during the evening hours.

I say keep the programing at night local and carry"The John Tesh Show"from Midnight until 5:30 in the morning. They will have the Christmas feed available in the near future.
