KOST

I always read about WLTW, WBEB, etc on here but what about KOST? Any thoughts about their AC format?

IMO, they are much more like the typical AC station than WLTW, who has Black Eyed Peas, Alejandro, and Empire State of Mind in the top 10, which most AC stations are not playing.... KOST has "Have I Told You Lately" and "Faithfully" in the top 10, with "Your Song" at #11. KOST is more predictable, but is programmed well. They also have a local night show instead of Delilah, unlike 106.7.

I like KOST more than Lite FM, and can't believe I keep forgetting about them. They have an older lean, which I like...lots of 70s and 80s.

Great sounding station. A little less rhythmic than Lite in NYC.
Yeah....good point. I guess the 'smoother' sound fits the LA audience and the more rhythmic/upbeat sound fits the NYC audience. I wish more AC's sounded like KOST.

CBS Radio's Mix 96 in Sacramento and KOIT 96.5 San Francisco sound a lot like KOST to me, the 2 play a lot of classics.

I agree, KOST (in my opinion) Mix and KOIT are true AC stations. No rhythmic lean.

Actually, WLTW is more rhythmic than most AC's. Not my cup of tea, but whatever fits the market. They aren't so huge for no reason.

WMGF in Orlando, FL sounds a lot like WLTW...they play "I Gotta Feeling" and "Single Ladies"....not really AC songs, but whatever.
