KOSY gives us an early Christmas present.......

A Rock!

CC went Grinch on us at 8:00 and took the Christmas Music and Saturday Night Showtunes from us. The station is now Rock 106.5, which is basically an upgrade of Rock 99.1.

Last song on KOSY was Rod Stewart's "Let It Snow". First song on Rock 106.5 was Boston's "Peace of Mind".

Looks like it's down to KSFI and KBEE.

Should this prove true, thus ends 14 years as KOSY 106.5. I am grateful to have been a part of the beginning of what was KOSY FM. Soft and Relaxing Favorites and 3 years hosting and producing "Sounds of the Sabbath." Paul Wilson had a vision of KOSY as a true alternative to KSFI. We focused on the classic soft rock of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I still believe a station that focused on those years of Adult Contemporary would do well in the ratings in the SLC market. I actually thought a "JILL FM" with a wide library of 1,200-1,400 songs that were popular in those three decades with a soft rock slant would do gangbusters. Thank you Salt Lake for supporting KOSY and Sounds of the Sabbath through the past 14 years.

Just checked 99.1, and it is running some real ear-bleeding Rock. ;D
