KOVR to premiere Shane, new set at same time

There's an update on doings at KOVR in Sam McMannis' newsy Media Savvy column today (1/17/06)

http://www.sacticket.com/tv_radio/story/14083785p-14914161c.html

Sam reports that the other Sam... (Shane) will appear on KOVR when the new set does. "Expect Shane either the last week of January or early February," along with Shane's yet-to-be-named anchor, McMannis writes.

He has a description from KOVR's news director about the temporary digs.

http://cbs13.com/slideshows/local_slideshow_355234852 has pictures of the newsroom rebuild.

There are some other tidbits of regional and national interest that are good for a chuckle, and updates on movement among Sacramento radio people.

Enjoy.

Ted.

Named. It will be Pallas Hupe, previously of WJBK Fox 2 in Detroit.

And, according to Big Boss Bruno Cohen on last Sunday's "Good Day Sacramento" program, the whole thing rolls out -- complete with new graphics and music -- Monday, January 30.
