As I sat in a sandwich shop on the Camelback corridor eating a Reuben and drinking lemonade I was enjoying the smooth sounds of KOY. As I stared at the huge, beautiful view of Camelback Mountain I was raptured by the sounds of Peter, Paul, and Mary- Leavin On A Jet Plane and then Paul Simon- Slip Slidin Away. Oh what a lovely tranquil lunch it was.
 
KOY, Chick Watkins, & some guy named Tom Clay

those guys at KOY are my Buddies, if it's the Network bunch!. Chick Watkins, the P.D. (and once America's # 1 rated AM Radio Music Announcer) was the best. He'd ask you a Question like "Do you like Coffee"?. Before you could answer him, he would rip his Toupee off and say "Look what it did to me!". Both Dan Armstrong & Chick Watkins programmed KOY. Once I had Chick play Tom Clay's "What the World Needs Now". The complaints poured into the Network!
-What is segregation?
-I don't know what seggeration is.
-What is bigotry?
-I don't know what biggery is.
-What does... hatred mean?
-I don't know what that is..
-What is prejudice?
-Hmm.. I think it's when someone's sick.

At my old East Coast "flamethrower" (ha!) that song was on a disc of downloaded songs. I suggested updating the song with soundbites of OJ, Rodney King, Michael Jackson ect.
