KPEL-FM to swap frequencies with KFTE-FM

As of midnight, the deed is done. First song on the new Planet Radio 105-1 was "Cold" by Crossfade.

I rolled tape (by which I mean I had both of my RadioShark 2s that I use for airchecks recording) on both frequencies, so I have the last 80 minutes of Planet Radio 96.5 and the first 80 minutes of Planet Radio 105-1. For those out of the market and interested in hearing it, I'll be posting the audio in the morning once the 105.1 aircheck finishes recording.

Thank god we dont have to hear them read the "Planet Radio is Moving to 105.1" liner card any more. I noticed on 105.1 there are file compression artifacts in the audio that were not on 96.5. They are prob using a digital stl, and sharing bandwith with KROF, Otherwise the audio processing on 105.1 sounds good. Music is same ole stale take on active/alt rock. I would trade any 10 Lafayette stations for KROK out of Leesville.

I agree 110%... either KROK or Austin's 101X/San Diego's FM94.9—something not so dependent on the nu-metal/active stuff and focused more on the indie/true-alt side of the format.

Agreed!

Planet is still playing the same recurrents they were playing back in 2003 when I graduated from ULL and left town shortly after. When I return, it feels like a time warp as the station sounds no different. While I'm glad Lafayette still has rock station(s), Planet is feeding its own demise. I find myself spending much more time listening to Rock 93.7 when I visit. It brings back good memories of 100.7 The Tiger (I miss the Condon & LeBlanc show!)
