KPFT offers KTRU DJ's their HD-2

Thanks for posting this, I for one will be listening when this HD2 launches. And would love to hear the KTRU programs move there if they loose the opportunity to broadcast on FM Analog.

What a waste really not many stores sell HD radios so not many people will be able to listen if they have a internet feed that would be great

KTRU is staying on the internet, so not an issue there.

This would be a great way of promoting HD among younger demographics. And the radios are out there, if you know where to look. Perhaps sellers/distributors should be featured on station websites? Amazon has several HD radios that can be purchased online, and there are many other outlets to obtain HD receivers on the internet.

It would be nice if people would stop their endless complaining about HD, and embrace the technology. It does offer an avenue for many formats that are otherwise unavailable OTA. It's not the 1960's any more.

Just FYI, from my experience you can buy a HD-Radio at the following brick and mortar locations:

Best Buy:
Insignia Home Component Receiver
Insignia Portable Walkman Model
Sony Ipod Dock with HD Tuner
Zune HD
A couple models of car decks

Walmart:
Dual and Kenwood Car Decks

Radioshack:
Gigaware HD radio addon for Ipod
Gigaware Ipod Dock with HD Tuner

Try finding anyone at any of those stores that even knows what an HD radio is. They'll take you over to their XM or Sirius radios and try to tell you that those are what you're looking for.

Try to find anyone at Best Buy who knows anything other than how to sell an extended warranty. Their cluelessness knows no bounds.

At Walmart you're better off buying online and having it shipped to the store so you don't have to figure out what shelf it's on. I've even been able to find industrial computer parts stocked by them online.

As for Radio Shack, a variation of their old slogan remains true: "You've got questions, we've got batteries."
